I was born in 1968 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After several years
my family moved to Iowa, then eventually settled in the warmer climate
of Tulsa, Oklahoma where I attended junior high and high schools.
After graduating high school in 1987 I moved out east to attend
Boston University where I earned in 1991 a B.A. with a double major
of Philosophy and German Language and Literature. I spent my junior
year of college abroad at the University of Tübingen in the
southwest of Germany near Stuttgart. Thinking I would like a job
in academia I moved south to attend graduate school at the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill concentrating on German Literature.
But it was not to be. After two years of graduate school I realized
that the world of professional scholarship and I were not made for
each other and I ended my academic career. I now work
in the Chapel Hill area where I have a job in the Information Technology
field which I love for its challenges and ever-changing technology.
My interests include gardening,
fishing, technology, travel, movies, and books. I recently
learned to scuba dive. I am passionate about food and cooking. I am passionate about amazing service and striving for perfection. I love anything done with great care, pains and attention. My politics tend toward the fiscally conservative,
socially liberal but above all I believe in practical solutions to solvable problems.
I am married to a wonderful woman and we live in Raleigh, North Carolina.
